Amy Schlimpert, CVT
Executive Director of Shenanigans & Marketing
About Amy
Amy is a Certified Veterinary Technician residing in Southern Illinois. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College in Missouri in 2011 with an associate degree in Veterinary Technology and received her license later that year.
Amy spent a decade at a small animal practice in Saint Louis, Missouri, splitting her time between surgery, appointments, controlled drug inventory, and managing the clinic's social media platforms. In 2022, she moved back near her hometown in rural Southern Illinois.

Amy met Dr. DeWilde when they worked together for several years in Saint Louis. They quickly discovered they had a lot in common: Illinois natives with a love for Will Ferrell movies, cats, veterinary medicine, and social media (mainly for the cat memes!). Amy took over the social media management for the clinic they worked at after Dr. DeWilde taught her everything she knew. Over the years, they kept in close contact and collaborated on a few projects together. When a position opened up to join The Social DVM team, Amy eagerly accepted the opportunity to work together again.

Amy’s professional interests include animal behavior, neurology, internal medicine, and, of course, veterinary marketing.

Amy lives on a farm with her fiancé, three kids (all boys), cows, and the typical group of oddballs and lemons that only seasoned vet techs wind up with including a senile mini Aussie named Wrangler, a snoring Pit Bull named Nala, a three-legged mess of a Doodle named Frankie, a teeny-tiny partially blind Chihuahua mix named Thorn, one very spoiled indoor cat named Jenny, and four, even more, spoiled garage cats: Pinky, Mama, Whiskey, and Larry.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, listening to music, watching Blues hockey, and watching organization TikToks.
